WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A project that s been in the making for several years now is finally finished. It s the walkway in West Terre Haute.
Many people have been using the walkway before it was complete. This was dangerous because no barricades were up, but now the walkway is safe for all.
Former County Commissioner Judith Anderson and Senator Jon Ford spearheaded this project. They were able to get legislation passed back in 2018 to fund it through the Indiana Department of Transportation. In total it cost $9 million. It s a project Anderson is happy to see happen.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) As July 1 marks the beginning of Indiana’s new $37.4 billion budget, lawmakers hope to stay competitive with nearby states. Some key areas of spending include Medicaid, public safety and major investments in K-12 education.
“We have to be fiscal, conservative. We have to make sure there’s enough money in case of a recession and we have to stick to a household budget. Our goal remains to improve the quality of life in Indiana,” State State Rep. Bob Heaton said
However, many tax payer dollars will also be used in assisting businesses impacted by COVID-19, while still creating larger scale economic opportunity.

JASONVILLE, Ind. (WTHI) President Joe Biden was sworn into office making him the 46th President of the United States.
State Representative Bruce Borders represents District 45 in the Wabash Valley. That includes Sullivan County and parts of Vigo, Greene, Knox, and Daviess.
He said that President Bidens inauguration was unlike any he had seen before. With a small gathering, no public crowds and intense security.
