Taipei, April 15 (CNA) With a U.S. delegation touching down in Taipei Wednesday, former Foreign Minister Chen Chien-jen (程建人) predicted that it may have brought messages regarding cross-Taiwan Strait relations from U.S. President Joe Biden.
The former official told CNA Wednesday that the delegation visiting Taiwan at the request of the Biden administration indicates U.S. support for Taiwan.
The group, Chen said, may also be tasked with expressing concern over the Taiwanese authorities handling of cross-strait relations amid increasingly strained ties between Taipei and Beijing.
