PASSHE adopts changes to address campus racism By Art Haywood © D-Montgomery/Philadelphia Senator Art Haywood Pennsylvania’s 14 State System of Higher Education universities made a historic break with decades of systemic racism on Thursday. The Board of Governors made ending campus racism an urgent priority in the redesign of the state system. The board formally adopted a framework of administrative changes aimed at full inclusion of Black, Brown, and traditionally excluded students, faculty, and staff. The Coalition to End Campus Racism achieved these changes after public exchanges; meetings with the chancellor, vice chancellor, all university presidents, and board members; and townhalls with advocates, led by Brandon Teel and Zuri Redmond, seniors at East Stroudsburg University. Their voices were heard.
