State, county officials take action against bars, restaurants for violating Walz orders

(St. Paul, MN) The Minnesota Department of Health and Attorney General s Office are taking legal action against more bars and restaurants for violating the COVID emergency order. State health officials issued cease-and-desist orders Friday to The Interchange in Albert Lea, The Pizza Depot in Becker and Hooligan s Lakeside in Lake Park. The A-G s office filed lawsuits against Cornerstone Café in Monticello and Cork in Anoka for in-person dining. A Dakota County judge ordered Alibi Drinkery in Lakeville to close for on-premises dining after repeated violations of the emergency COVID order. A court hearing is set for Tuesday morning. Attorney General Keith Ellison says he s gratified the court realizes urgent action is needed to stop the spread of COVID-19. Ellison says the vast majority of Minnesota bars and restaurants are already complying with their responsibility.
