A controversial homeless shelter bill passed the Senate espite concerns that it would strain existing homeless resource centers in Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake and Midvale. The bill would ask city leaders to propose plans for overflow shelter and, if the plans are insufficient, the state would flex capacity at existing shelters.
The Utah State Legislature moved swiftly and unanimously passed a resolution supporting Ukraine and urging action against Russia for invading the country.
