A group of 66 New York lawmakers has issued an urgent plea to Governor Kathy Hochul, calling on her to sign the 'Cannabis Crop Rescue Act,' legislation designed to address the dire situation faced by over 200 licensed cannabis farmers in the state.
Critics say a change the New York State Legislature made to the public campaign finance system would undermine its purpose to encourage small donors to have more of a voice in campaigns and instead further empower large contributors. Gov. Kathy Hochul said she has not decided whether to sign it.
