LAHORE: Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla said Sunday if National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal does not appear before the Senate, warrants for him will be issued.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, he said He said warrants could be issued to summon anyone before the Senate. Mandviwalla talked about the list of complaints the Senate has received from different people pertaining to NAB s maltreatment and the failure by political parties to improve the NAB ordinance when they had a chance. Mandviwalla blamed political parties for not making amendments to the NAB ordinance because of which it started intervening in every institution of the country.
Senate Threatens to Issue Arrest Warrants for NAB Chairman
Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla has threatened to summon the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal, through arrest warrants if he does not appear before the Upper House. He made these remarks while addressing a press conference on Sunday.
“Warrants could be issued to summon anyone before the Senate,” he declared.
Mandviwalla has been making anti-NAB statements ever since he received a notice from the anti-corruption watchdog earlier this month. He had previously vowed to blacklist the NAB across the world.
He announced that the Senate has received a list of complaints against the NAB pertaining to its maltreatment of parliamentarians.

Through the letter, written by a section officer of the Senate Secretariat to Opposition Leader in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, the opposition members have been directed to revise the agenda and submit it again for consideration by Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.
