The museum has over 8 million visitors a year. Looking at the story of flight in the atmosphere, where i work in, we are looking at 500 aircraft and helicopters. Of those aircraft, about 67 are on display in the National Mall building. What supports these artifacts is up to 50,000 small and medium artifacts.
