Retired policeman shoots at bandit after robbery
A retired policeman shot at a bandit after being robbed in Arima on Tuesday night.
Police said the 71-year-old man and his wife were walking in Tumpuna Gardens at around 8.10 pm when a silver Nissan Note pulled up alongside the couple and a man came out and pointed a gun at them before taking the retired officer s $20,000 wristband.
Police said as the bandit was walking back to the car he turned and pointed his gun at the couple.
The man pulled out his licensed pistol and shot at the bandit five times.
The bandit got into the car and drove off.
