I recently had a wonderful opportunity to see Evita (the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice) at the classy Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C. Evita’s name before marriage was Maria Eva Duarte. After her marriage to Juan Peron, she was known as Eva Duarte de Peron, or Evita (little Eva).
