Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) denounced Hamas while blaming them for the recent bloodshed in the region. The republican made a statement Wednesday in which he condemned the actions of the terrorist organization and emphasized Israel’s right to defend itself. DeSantis went as far as to suggest the move was a power grab by Hamas to expand their influence.
Rory McIlroy wins at Quail Hollow to end victory drought

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Rory McIlroy found his comfort zone at Quail Hollow and left with a trophy he badly needed.
McIlroy closed with a 3-under 68 and made it tough on himself at the end Sunday, driving into the hazard left of the 18th fairway and needing two putts from 45 feet for a one-shot victory in the Wells Fargo Championship.
What mattered was ending 18 months since his last victory in the HSBC Champions in Shanghai, along with finding a strong semblance of his game as he prepares to return to Kiawah Island for the PGA Championship.
Castillo stays healthy and shines in Walker Cup

Florida’s Ricky Castillo represented something much larger than the orange and blue this weekend.
Down in Juno Beach, Florida, Castillo was a member of a 10-man team carrying the stars and stripes.
The Walker Cup is a biennial tournament matching up amateurs from the United States against a team from Great Britain and Ireland. The United States Golf Association (USGA) selected golfers for the United States, and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A) made the selections for Great Britain and Ireland.
