Burnham theatre opens art exhibition exploring affects of pandemic
A month-long exhibition of unique artwork exploring how the Covid pandemic has affected local people has opened at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre.
The thought-provoking exhibition features the work of 12 local artists who were commissioned by the theatre to create pieces that sum up how the pandemic, lockdown and a lack of human contact, has affected us all over the past year.
The free exhibition, called ‘Contact’, was opened by Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Cllr Mike Facey and is now open to the public on weekdays and Saturdays from 9am-5pm until July 25th.

Two new arts and theatre groups launch for young people in Highbridge
Regional arts group Seed has launched two new Highbridge art and theatre groups for young people to explore their creativity.
A youth arts group and a youth theatre group will provide opportunities for young people in Highbridge to come together outside of a school setting, and learn creative skills, and meet like-minded people.
Seed will be working with Sharon Parkes and Paul Chapman to set up Highbridge Youth Arts, while Selina Keedwell will establish Highbridge Youth Theatre.
“Highbridge Youth Arts will provide an accessible and affordable opportunity for local young people of Highbridge to take part in creative and performing dance and drama,” says a spokesperson.
