Two barbers, a stylist and missionaries volunteered to give the clients haircuts and new clothes.
Denine Rushing, the Willis Dady shelter services director, wanted to provide clients with a look they could wear to interviews or meetings, along with a confidence boost. When we ve seen our clients having a longer stay, due to housing issues, and things like that, sometimes it can get kind of depressing and down, and just want to boost the self esteem of our clients and make them feel good, said Rushing.
Shiri Culp, the owner of Genre Barber Salon, hairstylist Kim Mogensen, and Eric Jones resident attendant at Willis Dady all provided hair care services at the event.
