and harder to direct passengers to help when there s a threat of bodily harm. you talked about needing more resources on board and the air marshalls. one thing that lisa olson said was that they ran out of zip ties and people started to hand up belts. what are the resources if you could be more specific, do you think you need on board in case something like this happens again? zip ties we should never run out of those, we should have plenty to use. there has been a lot of discussion about whether or not flight attendants should have tasers we need to look at that discussion again. and flight attendants need to be given the training we were supposed to have right after 9/11, which is crew member self-defense training, a training conducted by the air marshals we ve gotten funding for that but it s a voluntary basis. so flight attendants have to spend their own to get there.
