Today the president of the United States urged another leader of another country to bar members of congress from entering that country. They happen to be muslim members of congress. And ours later israel obliged announcing that congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and ilhan omar, both members of the socalled squad, both muslim, both critics of israels government, would not be allowed to visit. That decision came shortly after President Trump called on the israeli Prime Minister who has got his own reelection issue going on right now, to ban tlaib and omar saying they, quote, hate israel and all jewish people. They have been his target. And the president s renewed attacks set the stage for whakt what could be a Wild Campaign rally tonight in New Hampshire. New hampshire has been the scene of some of the wild trump rallies which gets underway in just a few hours.
do you feel like this is always a big risk or the recent climate as well as some of the recent laws are sort of upping the ante, making parents more aware that they could try to do this or making the school more sensitive to i guess what they consider avoiding, quote, the divisive material which in this case people can judge for themselves, but sounds like one of many stories you could tell kids. truly, the only thing that s clear is that this the laws are vague. very poorly written. in a way that creates fear amongst teachers, causing them to self-center and allows parents to inject their few point into education. when you look at your interaction with your students, what do you think is important to expose them to? it s fair, i think, for people to observe there s debates about at what age you share what material. that s what curriculum is for.
left of center progressive views on our campus, like many campuses across the nation. but the same really can t be said about right of center views. this is an effort to try to remedy this with the school of civic life and leadership which will provide equal opportunity for both views to be taught at the university. research shows that students, especially conservative students, routinely self-center themselves at many of america s leading colleges and universities p including here in north carolina. we want to provide that opportunity for students to express themselves, to learn, and develop the skills necessary to be leaders of the future. wow. rachel: i mean, i have to say it is a victory but a very, very small one because in the end, we have millions of kids going through higher education who never hear a conservative point of view, never hear a libertarian point of view. the purpose is, had they should hear o all of the views and maka decision for themselves.
