Lee did, although it was his home for about 30 years. This is the National Park services most visited historic home and it was on this day in 1916 that president Woodrow Wilson signed the legislation that created the park service. Were here this evening at arlington house to talk about the park service and its history. We will also learn more about this special house and the people who lived here and how its being preserved and interpreted by the National Park service.
