US: BJ’s Wholesale Club CEO Lee Delaney dies at age 49
Lee Delaney, president and CEO of BJ’s Wholesale Club died unexpectedly at age 49. Westborough, Massachusetts-based BJ’s said that Delaney’s death was “due to presumed natural causes”. He had served as president and CEO since February 2, 2019, taking over from Christopher Baldwin, who became executive chairman.

The Fresh Market Update campaign promotes the quality of the retailer’s ‘Select Farms’ and its commitments to sustainability
M&S is relaunching its ‘Fresh Market Update’ TV and online ad campaign, showcasing the retailer’s farming partners.
Nineteen ads are to air over four months across ITV, Channel 4 and YouTube, each introduced by ITV weather presenter Lucy Verasamy.
The Fresh Market Update campaign, which first ran last year, promotes the quality of the retailer’s ‘Select Farms’ and its commitments to sustainability, featuring interviews with farmers.
The latest campaign will see M&S introducing 30 million bees to 28 partner farms this summer to boost pollination, “improve product quality and produce delicious British honey”. It’s part of a new five-year programme M&S is embarking on to support Select Farmers in responding to environmental challenges, it said.

Marks & Spencer is launching a major new TV, multimedia, and in-store campaign which will focus on the quality of its food and showcase the work of its ‘Select’ farmers around the UK.
A total of 19 ads will run across the four-month ‘Fresh Market Update’ campaign. Each week M&S will introduce viewers to a different farmer that supplies food for its Select Farm brand, which is built around the promise to source goods from producers with the highest animal welfare, environmental and quality standards.
Consumers will hear directly from the farmers about the lengths they go to deliver Select Farms quality, with each ad presented by ITV’s Weather Presenter Lucy Verasamy (see below). The ads also include M&S chef Chris Baber offering seasonal family recipes.
