Nigeria Professional Football League sides Enyimba and Rivers United will both hope to avoid defeats in their continental ties against Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh and South African side Bloemfontein Celtic respectively on Wednesday (today), The PUNCH reports.
Enyimba will file out against Al-Merrikh in the Preliminary Round 2 of the CAF Champions League at the Al-Hilal Stadium, Omdurman, while Rivers face Celtic at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium, Bloemfontein in the Confederation Cup.
Both clubs are the only Nigerian sides left on the continent after Plateau United and Kano Pillars were knocked out in the first preliminary stage of the Champions League and the Confederation Cup respectively.
