‘Ehsaas Tahafuz’ operations lauded

Rawalpindi : To commemorate World Health Day 2021, Dr. Sania Nishtar visited the ‘Ehsaas’ Facilitation Center in Holy Family Hospital (HFH) here Wednesday to appraise operations of the ‘Ehsaas Tahafuz’ that is currently in its pilot phase.
During the course of the visit, Dr. Sania held a meeting with ‘Ehsaas Tahafuz’s’ technical team of medical experts, hospital administrators and programme verifiers, took stock of the progress and gained firsthand insights for programme expansion later this year.
Briefing media after the ‘Tahafuz’ stock take, Dr. Sania shared, “Ehsaas Tahafuz’ is Pakistan’s first shock-oriented precision safety net. The programme is centered on protecting the deserving patients from catastrophic health expenditures. MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has included cancer in free treatment services under Sehat Sahulat Card but has not listed any health facility in the Hazara division to serve the patients.
âMy husband was diagnosed as a cancer patient at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine, Oncology and Radiotherapy (INOR) in Abbottabad but his treatment couldnât be initiated as we cannot afford such high expenses,â said Shaheen Bibi. Shaheen Bibi, a resident of Pulrah area, told reporters here. We shifted him to our native Pulrah area here but couldnât have him treated because of poverty,â she said.

“My husband is suffering from cancer but is still going without treatment due to the extreme poverty,” Shaheen Bibi, a resident of Pulrah area, told reporters here.
She said her husband Mohammad Ashraf had taken her entire family to Islamabad as he worked there at a hotel as a waiter. “He has now been diagnosed with cancer and we shifted him to our native Pulrah area here but couldn’t have him treated because of the poverty,” she said.
