A new community sharps bin was announced last week by the local health unit in partnership with the Town of Parry Sound.
Located at the corner of Seguin Street and Gibson Street and available 24/7, the community bin aims to provide a place for people to safely discard sharps and helps keep the community safer for everyone.
When used sharps are discarded improperly, such as in recycling, garbage or even in a public place, it is often the result of not having a place to properly dispose of them.

City council opted to expand its 2021 paving program, nearly doubling the funding allocated for the annual road work during Tuesday night’s meeting.
“We are recommending we add $1 million, plus HST, to our paving contract and amend Bylaw 2021-8537,” said Patrick Seguin, the city’s director of public works and engineering.
