west virginia. that s around 3:30 eastern time. potentially embarrassing e-mails have surfaced from wall street investment giant goldman sachs. a u.s. senate committee released the e-mails that show goldman executives bragging about making huge abouts of during the global economic downturn. one touted the company s profit from betting against the u.s. market. those are called short. they re at the heart of the government lawsuit against goldman sachs. they re hoping one disaster does not spawn another, but the bad news is that, in fact, there is an oil leak now after the huge oil rig fire and explosion that happened in the gulf of mexico last week. it s leaking a thousand barrels of oil a day. it s about 5,000 feet below the surface of the water. that oil is going to be seeping up. it s going to make its way to the surface. the search was suspended on friday. still, this oil that s leaking
government, it was really kind of a shrouded mystery. first of all, we don t know exactly what precisely is seeping up. we don t know the precise location of where the may be seeping up. and we don t know how they got the information in the first place. what we do know is that if you have seepage, you have a lowering of the internal process inside. if you have a rupture, that could really compound the problems we have. it could be impossible to stop this and lead to all kinds of problems. again, what it harbors is that we have to monitor it closely. they have been monitoring wit seismic monitors. they have a couple robots under water as well. and we have cameras from you crisis across the area. much of it remains a mystery. reynolds wolf, we ll continue to track it with you. the u.s. is pretty much out
