The Wallflowers Return With Exit Wounds

Exit Wounds on July 9th via New West Records. The 10-song set is their first album in nearly a decade and was produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Weezer). Exit Wounds was mixed by Chris Dugan (Green Day) and features the acclaimed singer-songwriter Shelby Lynne on four songs. While it has been nearly a decade since we’ve heard from the group with whom Jakob Dylan first made his mark, he always knew they’d return. “The Wallflowers is much of my life’s work,” he says simply. Beyond the Bin: A Comprehensive Look at Recycling Memorial Hall Library and a group called Andover WECAN (Working to Educate Climate Action Now) are teaming up for a three-part virtual series about local and statewide recycling efforts.  The discussion will kick off April 1 at 7 p.m. with a presentation called Is Recycling Still Alive by Neil Rhein, founder and executive director of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful.  Rhein will talk about what happens to trash and recyclables in Andover, as well as the world’s plastic pollution crisis and how trash and recycling are managed in the Bay State. Calligraphy, abstraction to be focus of Louvre Abu Dhabi s first 2021 temporary exhibition

Abu Dhabi: The Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first international exhibition of the year Abstraction and Calligraphy Towards a Universal Language is set to open on Wednesday. The exhibit invites visitors to explore the dawn of modern abstraction through the exploration of signs and symbols, and traces their origins to Asian and Arabic calligraphy, and to sites of mutual inspiration around the world. The exhibition will run until June 12, and will bring together 86 pieces, including 80 on loans from partner institutions like the Centre Pompidou, a house for modern and contemporary art in Paris. It will showcase how 20th century abstract artists like Paul Klee, André Masson, Wassily Kandinsky, Cy Twombly, Lee Krasner, and Jackson Pollock felt the need to establish a new universal, visual language that was inspired by calligraphy. The show will also focus on 20th and 21st century Arab artists from Dia Azzawi and Anwar Jalal Shemza, to Ghada Amer, Shirazeh Houshiary, Mona Hatoum and oth
