We call on the parties to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh to refrain from the use of force, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said in a statement in connection with the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The parties will discuss the situation in the CSTO zone of responsibility and the SCO region, the intensification of cooperation between the two organizations that focuses on fight against terrorism and maintaining security and stability in the Central Asian region.
Stanislav Zas said that the decision to deploy peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan was made by the CSTO Collective Security Council based on the request of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on Articles 2 and 4 of the Collective Security Treaty and the CSTO basic agreement on peacekeeping activities.
