Perhaps his most important distinction i would say is that he worked previously as an american fellow but he has done one or two other things in his illustrious career. He is the National Security columnist and author of four books the most recent book which i think is here to tell us and has at least gone over with this new book that some one might not necessarily imagine. Fred is a Pulitzer Prize journalist back in his days at the boston globe and i am very pleased to be able to host him here today. I wake up really early and i do a couple of hours of emailing before i spend time with my family, before i send them to be off to their various camps and schools. I do work around the clock. As we have seen in the past few years and just in the past few days, Cyber Threats pose a danger not only to our National Security but also our Financial Security and the privacy of millions of americans. So i have joined with leaders from across my administration over the last several months to plan on how we are going to go after this in a more aggressive way. Today were rolling out a new Cyber Security National Action plan to address shortterm and longterm challenges when it comes to Cyber Security. My budget includes more than 19 billion for Cyber Security, which is up by more than onethird. With this plan, we intend to modernize federal i. T. By replacing outdated systems that are vulnerable to attack. I want to say as an aside here, one of the biggest gaps between the Public Sector and private sector is in our i. T. Space.
