At approximately 1:40 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a call from the 38-foot commercial fishing vessel Joseph Tuesday afternoon reporting a 19-year-old crew member was experiencing intense fatigue, difficulty breathing, and periodically losing feeling in his hands and feet.
An MH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter crew from Sector Columbia River was in flight conducting training when instructed to divert and respond to the call for help.
The aircrew arrived on the scene at 2:38 p.m., hoisted the fisherman, and transported him to awaiting emergency medical personnel at Sector Columbia River. He was in stable condition upon transfer and was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Coast Guard Rescues Injured Hiker Details
A Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk aircrew from Sector Columbia River medevaced an injured hiker Monday evening from the south jetty of Grays Harbor, Washington.
The hiker reportedly suffered a broken leg and was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for higher medical care.
At 5:28 p.m., watchstanders at Sector Columbia River received a report from Grays Harbor dispatch of a male hiker injured out on the jetty rocks.
Local police reported that paramedics had hiked out to the patient to provide first aid. They requested a helicopter medevac due to the slippery rocks and dangerous nature of waves crashing around them.

At approximately 2 p.m. on February 18, watchstanders at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Columbia River were notified over VHF-FM channel 16 that a crew member aboard the Crowley pusher tug Commitment had sustained a laceration to the face and eye while working in the vessel s engine room and required medical attention.
At 2:45 p.m., an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter rescue crew departed from Sector Columbia River in Warrenton, Ore., to respond.
The injured man was safely hoisted from the vessel at approximately 3:30 p.m. and then transported to awaiting emergency medical personnel at the sector.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a distress call at approximately 7:30 a.m. The vessel Terry F reported a loss of power and was taking on water four miles offshore.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Sector Columbia River diverted from routine operations, and a Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew diverted from a separate vessel escort to respond.
The three crew members were reportedly donning cold water immersion survival suits when communication with the Coast Guard was lost.
