Border Patrol Agents Arrest Three Dangerous Criminals in One Day
LAREDO, TX – Border Patrol agents apprehended a convicted sex offender, a man convicted of homicide, and an aggravated felon in three separate events in less than 24 hours.
The first incident occurred during the early morning of April 21, when agents apprehended a group of undocumented migrants on a ranch southwest of Freer, Texas. One of the individuals was identified as Jasiel Olvera-Olguin, a 34-year-old Mexican national. Records checks revealed that Jasiel Olvera-Olguin had been convicted in 2004 for Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree and Burglary 3rd Degree in Des Moines, Iowa. Olvera-Olguin is being held by the U.S. Border Patrol pending criminal prosecution for his immigration violations. He will be remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service.

Human Smuggling Effort On Texas Border Thwarted by Multi-Agency Effort

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with other law enforcement agencies to interdict a human smuggling attempt. The effort led to the arrest of multiple migrants and a human smuggler.
Laredo South Station agents reacted to information about a suspicious vehicle in a residential neighborhood near the Rio Grande during the morning of January 26. As the agents approached the area, the driver fled, prompting agents to all for an Air and Marine Operation aircrew to provide support in the pursuit, according to information obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.
