New chair of Wayne County Democrats excited to lead local party
RICHMOND, Ind. Chris Hardie expects an exciting next four years as chair of the Wayne County Democratic Party. I think that local politics is a place where I can make a difference, he said. I want to bring civically engaged people together and work on issues.
The local software developer and entrepreneur specifically cited issues of livable wages, fair housing, education and health care as important for Wayne County residents.
Hardie was selected Saturday when the local Democrats reorganized. He replaces Beth Harrick, who will now be vice chair after four years as the party s chair. Len Clark remains treasurer and Maggie Thomas is secretary.
