Markhor Trophy Hunting in Chitral, Kohistan Peshawar April 7, 2021 PESHAWAR: The Wildlife Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday distributed Rs91.269 million among representatives of 26 communities of Chitral and Kohistan districts as their share from the Markhor Trophy Hunting programme. The amount was distributed among the communities at a ceremony where Minister for Forests, Environment and Wildlife Department Ishtiaq Urmar was the chief guest. Special Secretary Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department, Matiullah Khan was also present on the occasion. KP’s Chief Conservator Wildlife, Dr Mohsin Farooque said the amount was paid to communities in Chitral and Kohistan to acknowledge their contribution in conservation of Markhor and Himalayan Ibex.

Industrial units warned to clean up within timeline or face action Peshawar February 2, 2021 PESHAWAR: Secretary Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtu­nkhwa, Shahidullah, has warned owners of the Chipboard Units Association to implement within timeline the pollution control measures as no tolerance shall be granted later. A press release said in a meeting held under secretary with the EPA officials, industry representative and expert team members from the civil society stated that the implementation of environmental law was a government responsibility and Revised National Envir­o­nm­ental Quality Standards (NEQS) were applicable to all the industries in Pakistan under the direction of the prime minister.
