You might not know it, but there’s a way for young people to get involved with the United States Air Force right here in Berrien County. Second Lieutenant Amanda Rodgers of Civil Air Patrol tells WSJM News the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is open to those between the ages of 12 and 18. It’s a way for young people to get some Air Force training.
“We have books and curriculum that are provided and based off of the U.S. Air Force, ” Rodgers said. “They do structured programs. They learn about the uniform, how to wear it properly and respect it, a lot of aviation, aerospace education. They do character development and leadership.”
