Deputies: Suspected bank robber arrested in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. - Sebastian I. Veres, 31, was arrested after a banking institution was robbed Wednesday afternoon, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say a man robbed the banking institution in the 6000 block of S. Tamiami Trail shortly before 1 p.m.
Deputies say the suspect fled the scene but was later located in the area of Mall Drive and Gateway Avenue. Deputies say they confirmed the suspect’s identity with the help of witnesses.
Veres is in custody and charges are pending.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a robbery that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Sarasota.
Deputies were first alerted just before 1 p.m. to a robbery at SunTrust Bank located at the 6000 block of S. Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41 and Stickney Point).
Responding deputies obtained the suspect’s description from witnesses and issued a BOLO in the area.
Deputies nearby located the possible suspect in the area of Mall Drive and Gateway Avenue and confirmed his identity through the help of witnesses. The suspect is identified as Sebastian I. Veres, 31, of Sarasota.
