(Seguin) – The Trinity men’s basketball team, coached by former TLU head coach Jimmy Smith, handed the Bulldogs a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference losses at Memorial Gymnasium over the weekend, 77-66 on Friday and 51-50 on Saturday.
Trinity closed Friday’s contest with a 16-6 run to break open an otherwise tightly contested game.
Sebastian Andrade paced the Bulldogs’ attack with a game-high 25 points. He added five rebounds. Avery Theus chipped in 11.

TLU women sweep Centenary in season opening road swing
(Shreveport, La.) – Texas Lutheran opened the 2020-21 women’s basketball season with back-to-back road wins over Centenary this past weekend, rolling past the Ladies 87-39 on Friday and surviving a more competitive game 70-61 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs led Friday’s game 41-24 lead at the half and outscored the Ladies 46-15 in the second half. TLU led by as many as 50 late in the game.
