Seaway Career & Technical Education Center announces student of the month

NORWOOD — The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood is pleased to announce Hailee Duvall as the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for April 2021. She is a student in the Health Careers Program. She is from the Canton Central School District and is the daughter of Heather Perkins and James Duvall. Health Careers is a two-year program that provides students with the foundation needed to pursue a career in the health care field. Basic entry level skills are learned through theory and also in the lab setting for a variety of health occupations. Students have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the lab when attending supervised clinical in a long-term care setting. Hailee has spent her junior and senior year learning about work ethic, body structure and function, health and wellness, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, how to measure vital signs along with spending time in the lab practicing the skills necessary to provide patient care in t

NORWOOD — The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood has announced that Noel Newton is the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for February. She is a student in the culinary arts program. She is from the Potsdam Central School District and is the daughter of Kevin and Kimberly Newton. Culinary arts is a two-year program that provides students with entry-level skills in quantity and quality of food preparation. The program prepares future chefs and food service workers with skills in management, salad preparation, baking procedures (including cake decorating), storeroom management and customer service relations. Students have the opportunity to become certified in ProStart and ServSafe. There are Dual Enrollment opportunities as well.

Tuesday, January 19, 2021 - 8:34 am The three BOCES Career & Technical Centers in St. Lawrence County have recognized outstanding students. Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood is pleased to announce Samantha Foster as the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for December 2020. At Northwest Career and Technical Center in Ogdensburg, Jaselyn Pomales-Santana was recognized as the December Student of the Month. Pomales-Santana is majoring in Cosmetology. At the Southwest Career & Technical Center in Fowler, Breena Drake, daughter of Brian and Kimberly Drake, was selected as the December Student of the Month, sponsored by the Gouverneur Chamber of Commerce. She attends Gouverneur Central and is enrolled in the Allied Health Program.
