SEATTLE Four people were hurt, including a 2-year-old girl, when gunfire erupted near Seattle's Central District neighborhood Sunday afternoon, police said. Dispatchers received multiple reports of shots fired at the intersection of 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street just before 3:30 p. m. , according to Seattle Police. “We heard at least 12 maybe even up to two dozen gun shots,” said Dustin Cole, who lives nearby.
Two of the men and the 2-year-old were transported to Harborview Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg said. The two men were in satisfactory condition. It was not clear which hospital the fourth victim was taken to, and information about his condition was not immediately available.
The child was in critical condition following the shooting, Seattle Police Detective Valerie Carson said in a statement.
Officers at the scene found bullet shell casings and blood, according to KOMO News.
Previous information indicated there were possibly only three victims, but police have now confirmed four victims of this shooting. https://t.co/Fv9F9KwG86 Seattle Police Dept. (@SeattlePD)
