SAN DIEGO
Big waves are expected to batter the San Diego County coast again Tuesday, a day after the Ocean Beach pier was damaged by elevated surf, while unseasonably warm weather is also expected to continue through at least the end of the week, according to forecasters.
The high surf could bring with it some minor coastal flooding, according to the National Weather Service in San Diego, which shared photographs Monday on Twitter showing rocks, sand and seaweed left strewn across the parking lot following high tides at Seaside Beach in Cardiff State Beach.
One of our forecasters took a field trip to the beach this morning to document the high surf at Cardiff and the aftermath of the high tides at Seaside.
