Things to do in Long Beach this weekend including drive-by cirque, roller skate tours and corned beef • the Hi-lo

Now that Long Beach has qualified for the less restrictive “red tier,” many of the simple joys we took for granted, such as seeing a movie in an actual theater, live music and indoor dining have returned, albeit in limited capacity. This means lots more for you to consider doing this weekend. Hooray! Also, since it’s St. Patrick’s Day today, we’ve got a couple of ideas for you, too. - ADVERTISEMENT - ST. PATRICK’S DAY IN LONG BEACH (Wednesday) Bird’s-eye view of Seaport Way, an area of 2nd & PCH shopping center blocked off to traffic. On St. Patrick’s Day local Irish musicians will be performing a blend of traditional Irish music. Image courtesy 2nd & PCH.

Movies & Moonlight free movie series returns to 2nd & PCH with Enchanted • the Hi-lo

- ADVERTISEMENT - The movie, which will run at 6 p.m., will be projected onto a giant inflatable screen, the same one used during 2nd & PCH’s summer drive-in movie series, at the south end of the center on Seaport Way that’s the side with women’s apparel stores Lulu Lemon and Jolie. The entire street is closed to traffic. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, as provided seating is limited and doled out on a first-come, first-served basis. However, there will be heaters stationed in the street. May we also remind you that health and safety protocol will still be in place. That means guests are required to maintain a 6-foot distance from parties not within the same household and wear a mask.
