Man who stabbed son eight times jailed for 2 and a half years Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard that the victim Gino Frahill, had made a plea for leniency for his 49 year old father Leon Leon Frahill pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to his son Gino Frahill who is in his late twenties at a bus stop at Glasslyn Road in Bandon on the 31st of March 2020. He also pleaded guilty to two charges of producing a knife on the same occasion.  The court that Leon Frahill, having stabbed his son eight times then flagged down passing traffic to raise the alarm. 

Jury fails to reach verdict on former scout leader s indecent assault charge

  A 75-year-old former scout leader has been remanded on continuing bail after a jury failed to reach a verdict in a case where he was charged with indecently assaulting a boy in Co Cork. Noel Sheehan, of Chimneyfields, Glenville, Co Cork, had denied a single count of indecent assault on the 13-year-old boy at an address in Glenville on a date unknown between January 7th, 1986 and April 31st, 1987. The complainant, who is now aged 48, told the jury of three men and nine women on the opening day of the trial at Cork Circuit Criminal Court that he was part of a group of scouts who were staying at a derelict building that they were doing up for use by the scouts in Glenville.

Updated / Thursday, 22 Apr 2021 17:19 Tralee native John Faulkner went on trial at Cork Circuit Criminal Court earlier this week A getaway driver who was part of a gang who went to rob the home of an elderly couple after they went to mass only to find gardaí lying in wait when they broke into the property, has been jailed for 12 years. Tralee native John Faulkner, 38, went on trial at Cork Circuit Criminal Court earlier this week in connection with a robbery at a home belonging to a couple in their 80s in Freemont, Charleville, Co Cork on 19 October 2019. His defence team had claimed that Faulkner could have been dropping off two men to visit friends.

Man who vandalised house he was renting handed a two year suspended sentence 67 year old Denis O Connor of Hillside, Cappagh, Kinsale avoided jail after he paid the landlords compensation. Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard that pensioner Denis O Connor, who has spent the last two months in custody pending today s sitting, had caused devastation to Audrey O Mahony and her family.  O Connor pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to the cottage in Ballinspittle by removing roof rafters and damaging floors and other fittings on dates between December 5th 2015 and July 23rd 2018.  He also pleaded guilty to the theft of a fitted kitchen which he removed from the cottage and replaced with his own kitchen.
