Scammers Seize on Frustration, Chaos of Vaccine Rollout

The note on a Washington, D.C., apartment building’s online message board looked enticing: “Anyone want a COVID vaccine? I have an extra Pfizer. Minimal side effects. I’m an RN. $500 OBO.”
People in Chicago are reporting phone calls offering a vaccine appointment if they provide a prepaid gift card, their Social Security number and other personal information.

The Boys are not Proud anymore! After the storming of the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump supporters on January 6, there has been a turnaround and disappointment from some of the people who backed the movement former President Donald Trump heralded.

The New York Times, the rambunctious far-right group The Proud Boys stated earlier this week that “Trump will go down as a total failure” in a Telegram message. Based on messages.
The Times has uncovered on social media sites such as Gab and Telegram, the group has been urging its supporters to stop attending rallies and protests being held for Trump or the Republican Party.
A 57-year-old North Dakota man was arrested on the early morning following the events that occurred at the United States Capitol in Washington, DC. In all, from Tuesday, January 5 through the early morning hours of Thursday, January 7, there were 82 unrest-related arrests.
One of those arrested on Thursday, January 7 was 57-year-old Timothy Austfjord, the lone North Dakotan arrested.
Sean Hickman, who is a Public Information Officer with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., confirmed to WZFG News that the 57-year-old Austfjord is from Cavalier, in northeastern North Dakota.
It is unknown, as of Saturday evening, if Austfjord is still in custody.
