RADNOR — An effort put forth by one Radnor commissioner to censure another member over a Twitter dispute quickly died as three Democrats joined a Republican to kill the action. At a board meeting this week, Radnor Commissioner Sean Farhy, a Democrat, proposed the board censure a fellow commissioner, Republican Jake Abel, for blocking him on Twitter. Radnor considers bringing in retail coordinator for business districts

RADNOR – Radnor officials hope a grant will help them develop a plan to compete with other towns and attract new business to the township’s commercial districts. Commissioner Lisa Borowski said the planner would provide guidance and work with the Wayne Business Association and others, including some of the larger retail businesses and local universities. - Advertisement - “I think it behooves us to at least attempt to get somebody that would be able to help provide some guidance not only in providing an assessment but I think to help us with a process,” she said.

Can Radnor fix its flooding problems

Open streams ran through areas of Wayne that are now covered with hard surfaces and buildings. Ithan Creek openly flowed near where where Radnor Middle School sits today. - Advertisement - Nearby, the Wayne Natatorium was created by damming another creek. The lake created from the dam was a popular recreation spot and used for swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter. Over 100 years after these streams were covered for the growing Wayne community, many of those culverts, inlets and sewers are wearing out. Now, due to a combination of all that impervious coverage and old infrastructure, flooding has become a major issue in the town.
