Miller Holmers Ltd wants to redevelop a large area of land east of Downend Road, Fareham. A PUBLIC inquiry will be held into plans to build up to 350 homes on farmland near the M27 motorway. Miller Homes Ltd lodged an appeal after its proposal to redevelop a large area of land east of Down End Road, Fareham, was rejected by the borough council. The company s application said 40% of the proposed new homes would be classed as affordable. It added that the scheme would include a large amount of green space, plus new footpaths linked to the existing rights of way network and the potential for sports provision.
1/1 PLANNING chiefs are studying an application to turn part of a Southampton office block into a new facility for Solent University. Cambridge Education Group (CEG) is seeking consent to convert the first, second and third floors of Imperial House in Kings Park Road, Southampton. Imperial House is a four-storey office building in Kings Park Road, part of the Bedford Place Quarter. According to CEG the site is near several bus stops used by students at the university. It also boasts strong pedestrian links to the University Quarter, approximately 200 metres from Imperial House. The application concedes that the proposed conversion will result in the loss of office space but says the scheme will produce clear economic benefits .
