A pair of lengthy long-term care and retirement home outbreaks at Caressant Care in Listowel linked to the deaths of 16 residents have been declared over.

Miriam Klassen, the medical officer of health in Huron and Perth counties, made the announcement Monday about two weeks after the end of an outbreak in Caressant Care’s adjoined long-term care home, which lasted from Jan. 10 to Feb. 9.
