Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) president Pawan Kumar Chamling claimed he was pushed by rival Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) supporters during campaigning in Namchi district. A video of the incident has gone viral, but the authenticity could not be independently verified. Chamling alleged he was pushed by SKM workers while campaigning for an SDF candidate. The Namchi police confirmed that the two sides came face to face but intervened in time to prevent any untoward incident. The SDF claimed that several party workers were beaten up by SKM activists.
After a Monday late-night deliberation by the SDF parliamentary board, it was decided that in addition to the Poklok-Kamrang seat, the five-year former CM will also contest from the Namcheybung seat. Follow News18.com for more
