that s right. the whistleblower acted according to the rules. and by the way, the inspector general acted according to the rules. this is a career person, had private practice, but then a justice department prosecutor appointed by the trump administration in a scrupulously is following the letter of the law in the carrying out of his duties. and by the way, that s a humbling experience, to see a civil servant who at great jeopardy, personal jeopardy, and clearly no personal political interest, doing his job. and the whistleblower is in the same category. but the bottom line here is that we ve got to enforce the whistleblower statute. and i m really hopeful that my republican colleagues are going to share with us concern about the upholding of our whistleblower system. congressman peter welch, thanks so much for joining us. thank you. i want to bring in our senior
in general. this is one of the most powerful movements that has happened in my lifetime. maybe the most powerful for women. for it to have staying power and for people not to dismiss it as mere allegations or as women sort of trumping up claims, each claim needs to be i think handled and investigated scrupulously. and i think jill brandt is getting ahead of her skis. let s have a congressional investigation. that s smart. the there is a congressional investigation and they find there s credibility to some of the allegations, i mean j there any reason to believe that donald trump would there s no reason to believe that donald trump would accept that and step down. i agree with that. i think it s smarter politics and better for this movement to put it out there for the voters saying in 2020 if he runs again, we ve found this. now it s up to you. it s not mere allegations. these are proven. exactly. that s what they should have done with al franken. they should have let the in
vice president of the woodrow wilson center. every time i say that, aaron, it s an incredible accomplishment. thank you for being with us. you re too kind. no, you re too smart. we are in new territory here. iran wanted these sanctions lifted so bad it could taste it. they clearly had heard and now they are getting some relief, but are they giving everything they promised in return. i don t think you are going to get the full reveal with respect to what it is they re doing. it will be interesting to see what the iaea concludes on the basis of these inspections and their visit to tehran. i suspect iranians will try to hold some stuff back. if they want to get to the next stage, they have to adhere scrupulously to the interim agreement. it s a cat and mouse game. if we are looking for incredible certainty and the assurance that the iranians have permanently shelved their nuclear weapons
president is dead wrong in doing these things. what is the remedy? it is hard to say. there have been various court cases and there are other court cases that are possible. they have certain challenges associated with those cases. there might be issues of standing and so forth. congress has a lot of tools at its disposal to retaliate if a president seem to be behaving lawlessly. they can withhold funding from his favored programs or hold up his nomination. things like this. but congress has some remedy at its disposal. when a president really seems to be acting lawlessly, at the end of the day, the real remedy is elections. and the people really should pay attention to whether their elected officials are scrupul s scrupulously adhering to the constitution. is there a comparison to what some other president did in recent history that we can compare this to? well, no, i think this is
concerns. what was your take on his physical health, physical stamina? i have nothing to say other than he did a very, very strenuous job rigorously, scrupulously and with great self control and during the months that he was involved with us, other than, you know other than just the anxiety that he was battling when we were before we opened the show, which is something that consumed him and i was happy to work with him through that process. he was he did really well and seemed to be healthy. i mean, like you said, he is a big guy in a strenuous production and with a lot of
