Now that students are back in school buildings, the Edmonds School District is making a plea to the community and their pets to stay off district campuses during school hours. When the schools closed last March as part of Gov. Jay Inslee’s stay-at-home order, many people with dogs spent time outdoors on school athletic playfields. However, since students have begun returning to in-person learning this year, district staff say schools are having a recurring problem with people bringing their pets many off leash on campus while class is in session.

MY EDMONDS NEWS Posted: March 10, 2021 431 Edmonds Lutheran Church is sponsoring a Goodwill Donation Drive from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday, March 13, with proceeds benefiting Scriber Lake High School student authors Goodwill will have two 28-foot trucks in the parking lot of Edmonds Lutheran Church, located at 23525 84th Ave. W., Edmonds. They accept small pieces of furniture, clothing and textiles and all household items except for mattresses. Goodwill will make a donation of $600 to Scriber Lake High School for each truck filled. School district provides update on stages of re-entry plan Posted: January 5, 2021 718 In an update to families on its Edmonds Schools Stages of Re-entry Plan, the Edmonds School District said it is on track for all Stage 1 students to have in-person learning opportunities available by the end of the month. On Monday, Jan. 4, the district said it welcomed Developmental Kindergarten classes back into its school buildings. The Developmental Kindergarten programs serve students with disabilities including deficits in language, cognition, social/emotional, speech, and/or motor skills. On Tuesday, Jan. 19, the district said it plans to bring in Intensive Support programs housed at Brier Elementary School and Maplewood K-8. The district also plans to bring back the Intensive Support program at Scriber Lake High School, the Project Search program, and some VOICE students.

The Mountlake Terrace City Council kicked off 2020 by swearing in four councilmembers during the council’s Jan. 2 work session. The council also voted to re-elect Councilmember Kyoko Matsumoto Wright as mayor and Councilmember Doug McCardle as mayor pro tem. ~~~~ To accommodate future population growth and rising student enrollment, the Edmonds School District proposed a $600 million construction bond measure to develop a new elementary and middle school, as well as a new building to house Scriber Lake High School. On Jan. 3, Edmonds School District Superintendent Kris McDuffy briefed the Mountlake Terrace City Council on the proposed measure.
