son s scout master in 2012 because of his sexual orientation. he joins me from kentucky. what a pleasure to see you. thank you for having me. at the center of this fight, let me get your reaction to what gates said yesterday. as i ve been telling people i feel like the berlin wall came down yesterday. it s a monumental change historic. when we look back a few years from now this will be the defining moment of the modernization of the boy scouts of america and the mutual towards full indplugs the boy scouts. as you know, the berlin wall didn t come down overnight. it took time before during and after to be down. the policy won t change overnight. scout leadership needs to approve it. how do you think that process will go? what i think people don t realize is there s been a civil war going on in the boy scouts of america for several years. there s been a movement in place internally as well as externally to try to get the boy scouts to define redefine their policy.
