of north korea. thank you so much. in just about 15 minutes time, the polls will open in ireland and voters will decide whether to change the constitution to allow same-sex marriage. voters have been told not to wear shirts or emblems shaurting either side of the debate when they go to cast their ballots. but that hasn t stopped groups from both sides from putting up signs all around. if the measure passes, ireland would be the first country in the world to adopt same-sex marriage through popular vote. robert gates, the president of the boy scouts of america and former u.s. secretary of defense is calling for the boys organization to end its ban on gay adults as scout leaders. gates said the current ban on gay leaders can t be sustained in the u.s. he said in part, quote, the country is changing and we are increasingly at odds with the legal landscape at both the state and federal levels. and as a movement, we find

senate. a year ago when he took this job as president of the boy scouts gates said he did not want to litigate his position as president. he didn t see a this environment coming. we see a lot in terms of new york where the new york council hired an openly gay adult leader n. colorado boy scouts are having pending legal action. the recommendation is not ultimately not up to him. this has to be implemented by scout leaders. how does that look like? can you see change this is states like massachusetts versus alabama? we don t know the policy they re going to put forward. we know dr. gates says they need to make the change sooner than later. he spoke clearly if they don t make the change on their own, courts could step in and force them to change.

scouts. the lawsuit charges vance hine activity groomed young boys under his charge for later sexual molestation. the lds church knew that vance hine, this pedophile was already kicked out of the scouting by the boy scouts of america. kicked out, fired from his job at the boy scouts. and his name added to its ineligible volunteer files, files otherwise known as the perversion files. blacklists of scout leaders suspected of sexual abuse or homosexuality. they became public in 2012. this is vance hine s so-called perversion file. it includes a termination memo from the boy scouts of america stating hine was aware of homosexual activity when he was camp director, which is against scout rules and failed to report
