A high speed chase in Kanawha county has left two people injured, including one trooper. The Kanawha county sheriffs office says officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Black Chevy, but the vehicle took off. Troopers followed in the high speed chase when the passenger began shooting at the windshield of one cruiser, shattering the windshield. Another cruiser collided head on with another vehicle, the trooper faced minor injuries and the other driver was taken to the hospital. 28 year old Branson Shaffer was charged with wanton endangerment as the alleged shooter, and 30 year old Scotty Shaffer is charged with fleeing with reckless indifference as the alleged driver.
