MARTINS FERRY – A Martins Ferry resident has been arrested for allegedly filming a young child naked and then sharing those videos with others.
Police Chief John McFarland said that Scott A. Lewis of 106 N. Ridge Drive, Martins Ferry, was arrested Sunday on several charges including: 14 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material; 16 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor (creation, production, publishing obscene material); two counts of endangering children; two counts of voyeurism; and two counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
McFarland said his department received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children group about Lewis. The group received its information from its cyber tip line via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Investigators said McCabe was driving a Cadillac Escalade SUV on Bay Road when he crossed over the double yellow line and struck a Kia Rio sedan driven by Scott A. Lewis, 37, also of Easton, who was remembered by family members as a great son, brother and uncle.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene while McCabe was taken by ambulance to Boston Medical Center with lacerations and a possible head injury.
Police reports stated that several witnesses observed McCabe’s vehicle speeding before the crash.
One resident on Bay Road said she was in her yard when she heard a vehicle approaching loudly and looked up to see it flash by at an estimated 80 mph, the report stated. Another resident who lives near the crash scene said he was in his garage when he heard and saw the Escalade, describing it was flying down the road, it stated.
