In 2017, Matt Watterworth’s Calgary neighbourhood was the scene of a shooting.
The filmmaker heard some commotion that night, but he didn’t pay much attention to it. It was just a popping sound and a car peeling away. It wasn’t until the next morning when he noticed the streets full of police cars that he realized something nasty had taken place within a half-block of his house. He then realized something else: he had no idea what a gunshot sounded like in real life.
