OTTAWA Ottawa firefighters say no one was hurt as a result of a barn fire in Greely Sunday afternoon. The barn on a property on Mitch Owens Road was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived at 3:20 p.m. The fire had also spread to a nearby vehicle and an office trailer, as well as to several parts of the surrounding cornfield. No livestock were in the barn. The fire was declared under control at 4:12 p.m., but crews remained on scene to extinguish hot spots around the property. Ottawa police closed a stretch of Mitch Owens Road from Ramsayville Road to 8th Line Road as crews battled the blaze.

Everyone got out safely on their own after a partial building collapse on Cyrville Road on Tuesday evening, Ottawa Fire Services reported.
Firefighters arrived at the Abundant Grace Church at 1161 Cyrville shortly after receiving a 911 call about the incident at 6:03 p.m. Crews checked to make sure there was no one left in the building before securing the area because of the possibility of power lines dropping onto the sidewalk and road.

Callers said that flames were coming from the roof.
Firefighters made their way into the bungalow, where fire had spread from the garage into the attic, and had it under control at 11:02 p.m. It was extinguished at 11:28 p.m. A “fire watch” was established for the home. A fire investigator was on the scene to determine the cause.
Both the Canadian Red Cross and the Salvation Army would be helping the residents, the fire department said.
