Town of Cramerton officials want to purchase the 0.1-acre parking lot belonging to the South Fork Masonic Lodge on Eighth Avenue to improve downtown parking and add an event venue.
Commissioners have discussed either buying or leasing the property from the local Masonic lodge for more than two years.
The Masonic organization has owned the property since 1937, according the the lodge s website. It s the oldest lodge in Gaston County and and second oldest in the state.
